Crustaceans:
Hermit crabs, shrimps
and more
Hermit crabs of all sizes are common the sand and mudflats. Hermit
crab populations are believed to be limited by the number of empty
shells available. So please don't collect empty shells. Hermit crabs
need them!
Snapping shrimps abound on the flats, you hear them more often than
spot them. Small shrimps and prawns are also common. The Mantis shrimp
is sometimes seen.
Most people don't know that barnacles are crustaceans, but they are!
