Sponges
and tunicates
Sponges in bewildering shapes and colours are found among the rocky
shores of Changi. Tunicates are also found in similar places.
Both are often mistaken for plants, but they are actually animals
that filter the water for edible titbits.
Sponges are simple animals with only a few types of cells. They have
no organs. Tunicates, on the other hand, are complex animals with
organs. However, the two do look similar at first glance.
