Striped
eeltail catfish Plotosus lineatus Catfishes are adapted for bottom feeding in murky water. They use their sensitive 'whiskers' (called barbels) to feel their way and sense food and predators. Catfishes have spines that can inflict a painful sting. Avoid handling these fishes and wear closed footwear when exploring the intertidal zone. |
