Moon snail
Natica tigrina

The Moon snail has a huge foot that it uses to move about, often just under the sand, to search for clams. The snail is able to bore a hole through the clam's shell to get at it. This takes a bit of time though.

Moon snails usually remain buried during daylight and are more commonly seen in the early morning or late evening.
