Miliaris cowrie Cypraea miliaris Like other cowries, the living Miliaris cowrie covers its shell with its mantle. Its mantle has lots of projections that make it difficult to spot the animal. When the shell is completely covered with its mantle, it is often mistaken for a shelless slug.
