Limpets Limpets graze the tiny algae that grow on the rocks. At high tide, they move about feeding, clinging tenaciously with their broad foot. At low tide, they clamp down to avoid drying out. Many limpets go back to the exact same spot to wait out the low tide. Sometimes, you might come across a white limpet-shaped spot on the rock free of algae. This could be the home base of a recently deceased limpet! |
