Carpet anemone Stichodactyla sp. These sea anemones can grow quite large. They have a large oral disc covered with lots of short tentacles that form a carpet to trap food. The mouth is in the centre of the animal. The anemone has a long body column which is buried in the ground. Carpet anemones harbour algae that photosynthesise. These give the anemones different hues and shades.
