Synaptid sea cucumbers Family Synaptidae These small worm-like sea cucumbers appear to be seasonally abundant. They have delicate, soft bodies and no tube feet. However, like other sea cucumbers, they have feeding tentacles. They are sometimes seen draped in large numbers over the black jelly-like animals that coat the rocks near the waterline.
