festoon the rocky shore in bewildering colours and shapes!

nudibranchs are sometimes seen. They eat sea pens and other
animals.

octopus is more common than we think. But these clever creatures
are well hidden.

Peacock anemones in all shades of the rainbow dot the sandflats.

Not
all worms are slimy and disgusting. Marine worms can be beautiful,
like this feathery fan worm.

Carpet
anemones abound. Few are large, but there are many small to
tiny ones. |
Beautiful
to look at, fire corals are animals that sting! They flourish
on rocks at Changi.

Sea
anemones come with textured bodies, stripped tentacles, or
clear as blown glass.

The
sandflats bristle with brittlestars. They disappear into the
soft sediments at sunrise

Thorny
sea cucumbers are sometimes so plentiful that it's hard to
avoid stepping on them.

Under
rocks hide all manner of crabs, cowries and strange blobs
which we're still trying to ID.

The
sea urchin is also seasonal. This particular type appears
to carry things on its spines!

Empty
shells are just pretty souvenirs to us, but hermit crabs need
them to survive.

drama of life. Silently; death, re-birth and living in harmony
continue on Changi's shores. |
Sea
pens of various shapes and colours sprout in the seagrass
beds. They are animals!
